Notification

To: Head of Provincial and Vientiane Capital Industry and Commerce Department
Subject: Management of wood transport vehicle, wood extraction machinery and wood processing machinery

  • To strengthen the management of wood business according to government policy.
  • To ensure the management of wood transport vehicle, wood extraction machinery, and wood processing machinery in consistence with the laws and regulations.

Minister of Industry and Commerce issues a Notification that shall be implemented by Provincial Industry and Commerce Department as follows:

  1. The import and use of wood extraction vehicles and transport, and wood extraction machinery shall be first agreed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry before the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (Department of Import and export) is able to issue an import permit.
  2. the Provincial and Vientiane Capital Industry and Commerce Department are given the right to monitor a distribution of all categories of wood processing machinery, and a possession and utilization of the aforementioned equipments and machinery on a basis of principles stated in a Decision No. 1140/MOIC-, dated 13 February 2007 concerning the Standard of Wood, Rattan and Bamboo Processing Industry Factories.
  3.  The Provincial and Vientiane Capital Industry and Commerce Department shall work with related agencies in proceeding an inspection and registration of vehicles specific for hauling logs, wood extraction machinery, and all categories of equipment or wood cutting machinery that are already imported and existed prior to this Notification but there is no detailed monitoring list following related regulation.
  4. The Provincial Industry and Commerce Department shall join with related agencies in applying an absolute measure to violators.
  5. For wood extraction machinery, vehicles to haul and transport logs that are served the projects approved by the government they shall be followed a specific regulation.
  6. This Notification enters into force from the date of signing, Notifications or regulations which contain contradict content to this Notification are abolished
